According to the charter of the Foundation of the Finnish Institute in Japan, its aim is to promote the knowledge of Finnish culture, science, higher education, technology and economics, and cooperation between these fields between Finland and Japan. The institute identifies and anticipates the development and cooperation needs of both countries, particularly in science, culture and education, and helps potential partners to find one another.
When being transferred to its third operation decade, the Finnish Institute in Japan is known as an institution which activities are goal-oriented and long-term. It is a respected partner in its fields between Finland, Japan and more extensively East Asia.
The institute recognizes opportunities within its field and does initiatives based on them.
The institute is able to react quickly to changing circumstances.
The institute is reliable and competent partner within all its activities.
